According to the story behind this car, it was specially built at the factory for President Josip Broz Tito and gifted to him by then-U.S. President John F. Kennedy, who was later assassinated in Dallas. There is also footage showing Tito driving the famous actors Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton in this very car. The car was sold at an auction on the Brijuni Islands during the 1970s, at a time when politicians were increasingly switching to Mercedes-Benz vehicles gifted by the West German government.
